Due to its full surface, the ceiling offers the ideal conditions for surface heating/cooling based on the principle of radiant heat - gentle, even temperature distribution without air currents. The air is neither required for transmission nor does it heat up. Conventional heating systems (radiators and underfloor heating) primarily heat the room air and distribute it through (gentle) air flow in the room. This vertical air movement sometimes causes swirls, which can be particularly unpleasant for allergy sufferers.
Heating with the air-conditioned ceiling. The technology is based on the exchange of radiation between a warm and a cold surface (infrared light). The heat "from above" radiates gently to the bodies below (floor/wall/furniture). These absorb the energy and warm up in the process.
Cooling with the air-conditioned ceiling. In cooling mode, the system works exactly the other way round: the ceiling temperature is kept a few degrees below the outside temperature. Furniture/wall/Bodenﬂächen radiate their heat to the ceiling, where it is dissipated with the water. This creates a comfortable room climate without cold draughts and annoying noises from an air conditioning system.
Not only the room climate is perceived as pleasant, but also the cost and energy savings. In comparison to conventional heating systems, ceiling heating requires a flow temperature of only 28 - 35°C. The heating system is designed for a comfortable room climate and also saves costs and energy. This reduces heating costs by up to 20%. Due to the low flow temperatures, it is particularly suitable for connection to regenerative energy generators, e.g. heat pumps.
One system for all cases
Whether single-family house, multi-party houses, commercial buildings or office buildings - the climate ceiling system is suitable for every building project. It is "completely invisible" and the entire ceiling provides a comfortable indoor climate in winter and summer.
Renovation: The new air-conditioned ceiling system scores with flexibility and low installation height. The profiles are adapted to any layout, however twisty, and allow a high occupancy rate. For beamed ceilings with and without pitched roofs, ZEWO air conditioned ceiling profiles can be mounted between the beams in order not to lose any room height and to retain the underside view of the original ceiling. This is an important factor, especially for listed buildings. Fire protection (F30) is possible when installing between wooden beams. A combined heating system is not always economically, technically or legally possible in old buildings. The climate ceiling system can also achieve high energy efficiency without full thermal insulation.
New construction: In new construction, the profiles are suitable for every floor plan and every room use. They can be mounted on any ceiling, whether wood or concrete. And with the appropriate planking, even fire protection requirements F30 and F60 can be implemented as effective false ceilings on their own. Possible ring absorbers (on request) improve the acoustics of the rooms. If the ceiling heating is planned from the outset, it may even be possible to dispense with a floor structure with screed and thus save further costs. A spring-mounted construction insulates sound and can replace impact sound insulation of the floor.
The ZEWO air-conditioned ceiling system can be mounted directly on the ceiling or on roof beams. Everything is now ready for installation: The pipe registers are simply inserted into the air-conditioned ceiling system heat conducting plates and connected to the existing heating system. Then gypsum plasterboard or gypsum fibre boards are mounted on the profiles. After filling, painting or plastering, this structure is ready for use and can already be implemented with a total height of 30 mm.
If a mounting level is required, ZEWO air conditioning ceiling profiles are mounted on counter slats or supporting profiles. These supporting profiles can also be suspended from the ceiling to provide even more space for schaﬀen - for example, to discreetly lay duct networks for ventilation, electrical systems and other building technology elements.
Fire protection: To ensure fire protection even in dry construction, we work with non-combustible Fermacell gypsum fibreboards. The combination of climatic ceiling profile and Fermacell panels realises a fire resistance of F30 or F60 as a single effective suspended ceiling according to DIN 4102 if required. In the interaction of planking and overall construction, even F90 is possible. This allows old buildings to be renovated and suspended ceilings to be installed even under stricter fire protection regulations.
The system consists of ready-to-install, clearly arranged products. For example, the air conditioning ceiling heat conduction plate is mounted directly on the ceiling or roof beam. The heating pipe is simply pressed into the groove of the heat conduction plate profiles and connected to the existing heating system. The system works with the high-quality metal composite pipe in the dimension 14 x 2.0. With this metal composite pipe, an aluminium jacket is butt welded to the ﬂexible PE-RT heating pipe. Then plasterboard or gypsum fibre boards are mounted on the profiles and the filling and plastering can be carried out directly. With the climate-controlled ceiling heat-conducting plates as well as cross and longitudinal connectors, any ceiling geometry including wall slopes can be realised.
