Along with the solar panels, the inverter is one of the most important components of a photovoltaic system. An inverter converts the direct current generated by the photovoltaic system into alternating current that can be used by the consumers. Thus, the inverter is the absolutely necessary interface between the solar module and the electricity grid, which ensures, among other things, through maximum power point tracking (MPP) that the system delivers maximum yields. The inverter should be installed as close as possible to the solar modules in order to minimise power losses. Depending on the manufacturer, the voltage converter can generate 1-phase or 3-phase (three-phase) alternating current (depending on the size of the PV system).
